Deadline for aspiring designers extended to 02 May 2014
Inspire Design - an opportunity for all SA designers

Samsung Electronics South Africa is pleased to announce that the deadline for entries for the Inspire[  ]Design campaign has been extended to Friday, 02 May. The initiative is for aspiring designers.

Open to all South Africans, the Inspire[  ]Design initiative is a brainchild of Samsung, aimed at unearthing the country’s best design talent across categories including Jewellery, Fashion, Furniture and Home and Décor, who are looking for an opportunity to express their vision and use this platform as a springboard to launch their careers.

The competition has seen great uptake, however with multiple requests for extra time to complete applications, Samsung has decided to extend the deadline, giving participants an extra two days to submit their entries.

Here are some of the benefits of participating in the Inspire[  ]Design Campaign:

To complete your entry, follow these steps:

STEP 1:
Go to: Inspire Design Campaign to receive an email with an editable PDF entry form attached.

STEP 2:
Once completed, send the entry form along with a portfolio of your designs (300 dpi images, not exceeding 6MB in size) to inspiredesign@samsung.com (No images sent via file sharing sites will be considered.)

Please note that the last day for entries is 02 May 2014, after which the screening of entries will commence. Successful entrants will be contacted by 30 May 2014. Should you not receive any feedback by this date, please consider your entry unsuccessful. Winners will be announced on 13 June 2014.

One of the oldest pieces of furniture is the chair, this functional piece has its origins dating  back to the Stone Age, where Archaeological evidence of sculptural relics at Neolithic building sites suggest chair and bench-like areas. Ancient Egypt has some of the earliest surviving physical examples of the Western world’s use of chairs.
