Welcome to Dismaland, an art amusement park created by artist Banksy that will haunt your dreams.
With Banksy launching a brand new exhibition, we decided to look a little deeper into what promises to be an iconic exhibition.
When Time magazine selected the British artist Banksy—graffiti master, painter, activist, filmmaker and all-purpose provocateur—for its list of the world’s 100 most influential people in 2010, he found himself in the company of Barack Obama, Steve Jobs and Lady Gaga. He supplied a picture of himself with a paper bag (recyclable, naturally) over his head. Most of his fans don’t really want to know who he is (and have loudly protested Fleet Street attempts to unmask him). But they do want to follow his upward trajectory from the outlaw spraying—or, as the argot has it, “bombing”—walls in Bristol, England, during the 1990s to the artist whose work commands hundreds of thousands of dollars in the auction houses of Britain and America. Today, he has bombed cities from Vienna to San Francisco, Barcelona to Paris and Detroit. And he has moved from graffiti on gritty urban walls to paint on canvas, conceptual sculpture and even film, with the guileful documentary Exit Through the Gift Shop, which was nominated for an Academy Award.

Dismaland is a five-week show housed inside and around a derelict Tropicana building in Weston-super-Mare, a seaside town in Somerset, England.
Banksy describes his wonderland as a “family theme park unsuitable for children,” according to the BBC.
Which means that you can appease your children by taking them to an amusement park while simultaneously torturing them.
The park features enough apocryphal Disney World imaginings to ruin a 5-year-old forever.
And works go beyond just Banksy. Damien Hirst, Jenny Holzer, and other artists have pieces on exhibit.
And while it’s all so creepy, it does make you THINK…
Why is this grim reaper in a bumper car?
Maybe it’s to represent the haphazard way that death seems to bump into our lives.
Why is this selfie spot surrounded by blank space?
Perhaps you make a beautiful place disappear amongst your flagrant narcissism.
Why is she an imbecile?
Maybe it’s to say that thoughtless consumerism can make people look stupid.
And why is Willy jumping out of a toilet?
Methinks he might desperately be trying to escape the marine life industry.
And why are there migrant boats?
You know exactly why.
Dismaland is Banksy’s biggest art show to date, and we’re sure the crowds will gather.
The art is up for you to interpret. And the statement pieces will chill you to the bone.
