FUNCTIONAL AND FANCY DESIGNS FROM STUDIO KANARI

With a strong focus on Copper, black and brass we were really inspired when we stumbled across these latest designs from Studio Kanari.




Modernity, simplicity, and quality are the core principles of Studio KANARI’s designs. With the belief that beauty is equally as important as functionality, their products for the home are for those who “fancy aesthetics as well as quintessence.”




Light Server is a blend of old and new. Embodying the essence of fire and candles, with the modern day functionality of electricity, Light Server is a multifunctional desk lamp. It has a removable shade, can be used as a reading light, and acts as a candleholder when the shade is removed.



In the same family as Light Server, Cylight is a matte black pendant light with metallic accents. Coming in gold, silver, or copper, the metal casts an interesting lighting effect when paired with colored lightbulbs.



Skelock is like four clocks in one. Its distinct shapes combine interaction and movement between space, time, and shadow. In different environments, the clock casts different shadows to create unique looks on the wall.



Noona is another metallic clock that makes a statement on its own. The large scale shape and smooth lines turn it into a functional wall accessory.




House is a quirky, house-shaped bottle opener that’s a unique accessory to any table. The wire “roof” helps pop bottles.

Barclays Africa’s new Digital Development Office, designed by dhk, is situated in the well-known Longkloof Studios in the heart of Cape Town. The space, which is designed to accommodate 60 permanent developers, exudes a sense of playfulness, creativity and innovation. Flexibility was key, so dhk developed an adaptable space, which can change depending on project requirements. There are no personalised desks or workstations, supporting mobility and integration within the office space. Impromptu brainstorming sessions are also encouraged, with employees being able to write on most of the surfaces within the office.   Inspiration for the interior came from the building’s exterior facade and DHK kept all of the heritage building’s finishes and fittings. Mirror Houses By Peter Pichler Architecture

The site of the project “Mirror Houses” by Peter Pichler Architecture is located in the midst of apple orchards close to Bolzano, North Italy, and is surrounded by the spectacular mountains of the dolomites. The client, who lives in a farmhouse of the ’60s on the site, asked us to design a structure for renting out as a luxury holiday unit, so guests have their small autonomous apartment and can fully enjoy the experience to live in the middle of nature. A maximum degree of privacy for both the client and the residing guest should be taken into consideration. The new structure is oriented towards east with their private garden and an autonomous access and parking for their guests. Each unit contains a kitchen / living room as well as a bath- and bedroom with big openable skylights to allow natural light and ventilation. A small basement serves for temporary storage.
